When you initially inquire about this treatment, one of our staff will answer any questions that you have on the phone and you will be invited to come in for a consultation. The most usual places for botulinum injections are the upper face, for example, frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet. It can also be used in tiny amounts to treat lower face lines.
A full history will be taken and your treatment plan will be discussed with you. You will then be given full disclosure of possible side effects and be offered a cooling off period. You then make your decision on which areas you would like treated. Photographs will be taken of the areas to be treated so that before and after comparisons can be made. Prior to the treatment being given, you will have the option to have cream applied to numb the areas to be injected to help minimise any discomfort. Some people choose this and some do not.
The injections themselves are given with a very fine needle and you will be looked after and supported by our highly trained nurse before, during and after your treatment.
You will be asked to return 2 weeks after the initial treatment where, if the muscles that have been treat are not fully asleep then a little extra will be given. There are certain medical conditions that may make it not possible for you to have treatment with botulinum toxin but this will be discussed either over the phone or at the consultation. It is not recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding ladies have this treatment.
We are always happy to answer any questions that you may have and pride ourselves on our aftercare.
